Hi, I’m Munara! A Uyghur-Canadian Filmmaker + Jr. Production Exec.

An avid reader and cinephile since childhood, I have a deep love for storytelling and the film and television industry.

As a writer and director, I’m drawn to women-centric stories that explore the intersections of social class, gender dynamics, and the diasporic experience. I also love stories set outside our modern world - historical, magical, Gothic.

I’m currently working as a Production Manager in scripted television at Lionsgate Canada. As a Jr. Production Exec, I navigate the many moving parts of production with a focus on creative alignment, strategic execution, and fostering strong, collaborative relationships across teams.
